Billy Joel Citi (2014)

MAC Presents brokered an exclusive partnership between Citi and Billy Joel for his franchise performances at Madison Square Garden in 2014.  Billy Joel is the first music franchise that MSG has hosted, and it was announced that he will continue to play one show per month so long as there is demand.  Citi was onsite for the historic press conference at MSG on Dec 3, 2013.

As an official sponsor of the franchise shows, Citi was able to offer cardmembers exclusive access to presale tickets.  Citi promoted the presales through their taxi cab advertisements, on billboards in high traffic Manhattan locations, with three full page NY Times ads, and via TV/Radio.  Social media and digital placements were also key traffic drivers.  All 12 shows were announced and sold out by early March.

MAC Presents is currently managing all activation on behalf of Citi for the 2014 shows, which includes a custom VIP Lounge which was designed and is built out to host guests prior to each show.  Guests receive a commemorative credential when they check in, and are able to enjoy appetizers and open bar from the time doors open until the time Billy Joel takes the stage.  The Lounge also features a custom photo booth where guests can have their photo taken, share to social media, and receive an instant print out as a keepsake.  VIP guests also have the opportunity to meet Billy Joel and have a photo taken in front of a co-branded step and repeat.
